A Profile of the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology in HULL

The department of Clinical Neurophysiology in Kingston upon Hull better known as Hull was inaugurated in 1984 with the appointment of a consultant physician specialist in clinical Neurophysiology. Functioning as an independent unit, from 1984 and on the department began providing its diagnostic services to the population of the city of Hull, East Yorkshire  and North Lincolnshire  accepting referrals from Hospital based clinicians in all specialities and General Practitioners.

The Clinical Neurophysiology is one of the five components of the Neuroscience services in Hull. The Hull Neurosciences consists of Neurosurgery, Neurology ( adult, and paediatric), Neuroradiology, Neuropathology and Neurophysiology. The Neurosurgery unit is one of the two Neurosurgery centres in Yorkshire. Administratively Neurophysiology and Neurology are part of the Directory of Medicine in Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust (HEY), but educationally both departments are closely associated with  the rest of the Neuroscience Services.

1 SpR,
1 clinical assistant (2 sessions),
2 Grade- 7 and 2 Grade- 6 clinical physiologists ( EEG Technicians)
1 Registered General Nurse,
1 PA  to Consultant
1 part time departmental clerk.
