Introduction

With the major changes in the medical training curriculum (see SAC News), incorporating direct assessment of procedural skills and other knowledge based assessments, there is a need to widen the experience and exposure of trainees to clinical material in an interactive way to supplement the clinical training provided within busy service departments of Clinical Neurophysiology.

In addition, Clinical Physiologists (Neurophysiology) are increasingly being involved in techniques which in some departments were the sole province of medically trained staff. Again, access to training and assessment materials may help to improve the quality of their skills.

The editor of this Website has therefore decided to make widely available material used in the Institute of Neurological Sciences, Glasgow for such training. Initially EMG/NCS training materials are provided, but EEG will follow.

It is hoped that interested members of the BSCN will a) submit new materials for inclusion b)use the attached discussion site to comment on the materials as they become available.
